Street sweeping contractors cheat business customers at night

Many street sweeping companies, which have large contracts with retail stores and shopping malls, often cheat the company on their services. In fact, as I travel the country, I am horrified by this particular industry. It seems that many of the contractors who have street sweeping businesses are cheating the customer. I wondered why is this? It seems to me that the lowest bid will get the contract and many of the companies’ bids are so low that they can’t afford to do the job or the right equipment to do it right.

I’ve seen street sweepers pull into a parking lot and drive a couple of times put a little bit of dirt into the air like when you take the vacuum cleaner out of your house and forget to clean the bag and the vacuum blows all the dust away. all over the place while vacuuming. The street sweeper then leaves without cleaning anything as there is still debris in the parking lot and trash. This seems pretty dishonest and I’m guessing no one realizes they didn’t do their job.

Who’s to say how clean a parking lot is supposed to be? As long as they showed up and drove, who’s to say they didn’t do what they said they were going to do? My question is why show up if you’re not going to get the job done? There seems to be a lack of integrity in many street sweeping companies. A very smart national company, operating in a professional and responsible manner, could probably, through economies of scale, get the job done for the same price and actually do what it says it will do.
