The new Jordan Carmelo Anthony shoes for basketball

In 2003, fresh off leading the Syracuse Orangeman to their first National Championship, Carmelo Kiyan Anthony was drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft. He was selected as the third pick by the Denver Nuggets. After one season at Syracuse and a prolific career at Oak Hill Academy, Carmelo had become a professional basketball player by the age of 19. Nicknamed “Melo,” Anthony instantly became one of the most prominent and popular players in the NBA. Awards he has received in his career include All-Rookie, All-Star, and All-NBA. Carmelo almost single-handedly led the Denver Nuggets from losers to winners in his 7-year career with the team. They made the playoffs six years in a row and won two division titles doing so. In other words, Melo did some work. He did a serious job.

The serious work he has done in the last 7 years has been done on his own Jordan shoe. And he has done it in a Nugget uniform. This season, his work will be done in a New York Knicks uniform after being sent to the Big Apple last season. Going into this season, barring an NBA lockout, Melo will be sporting the new edition of his signature shoe. The Jordan Melo M8 has been released on foreign soil and will soon be released in the US at major Jordan retailers. That’s right, we’ll have another Jumpman model to copy in the coming months. One of the new colorways of the Melo M8 unveiled today is the Knicks “Away” Edition.

The new Jordan Melo M8 is actually a continuation of the work done on the Melo M7 Advance. A combination of Nike Flywire support panels and synthetic materials are used in the upper of the shoe to provide a stable yet flexible fit. The upper also features patent leather overlays that increase durability. In addition, the Nike Max Air cushioning system has been placed in the midsole of the shoe and creates maximum impact protection. This is one sick looking shoe. Royal blue patent leather on the black upper makes this shoe stand out. Complete with a blue midsole, orange Jumpman logo and a white outsole, this is one of the best looking Melo signature sneakers to have been made in a long time. This shoe will drop on October 12. Mark your calendars.

Carmelo Anthony has a new pair of shoes. He, like LeBron James, hopes they’ll be the couple to bring him an NBA Finals championship ring. That and a lot of hard work can do it. The new Melo M8 joins a long line of Jordan basketball shoes that have laced up in hopes of taking home the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.
