General Motors, Toyota, and Nissan are big car companies that do more than just make cars. A franchise dealership has employees who build the cars, design the cars, design new car technology, and then have dealerships that sell and service the vehicles. Independent dealerships are also in the mix, selling used vehicles and servicing their own cars with different company designs.

With so many jobs, which ones pay the best in the auto industry? Just like anything else, sales positions are some of the highest positions available. As a seller, you will either be paid a commission on the final sale price of a vehicle or you will be charged a direct commission. Most sellers who are paid a direct fee make between $400 and $800 dollars per car. In high season, it is not uncommon for the seller to sell 12 to 17 cars a month. As you can see, this is really good money for a seller.

The next highest paying car job available is being a manager of other dealerships. As a manager, you will monitor the performance of your salespeople and pay them accordingly. He will also be in charge of hiring and firing employees. You can also be a very well-functioning service department manager in addition to being a finance department manager at your dealership. These management positions are usually always a salary type of position that often has great benefits and very rewarding bonuses based on the performance of their teams.
