On the west coast of Florida are the beaches of Clearwater and its island. These are the most popular vacation destinations in the state and are located in Pinellas County. The weather is perfect for tourists and Clearwater is remarkably calm, quiet and inexpensive compared to other famous places.

Clearwater offers something for everyone, from water recreation to nature based activities to different land activities. It is also more popular due to the special events held in the area. Clearwater has a rich heritage of culture and history that attracts history buffs from all over the place.

Basic amenities like fishing piers, picnic areas, playgrounds, showers, restrooms, boat ramp, and boat houses are available in Clearwater Beach. This beach is easily accessible by wheelchair.

Clearwater Beach is rated as one of the best beaches in the city. The white sand and crystal clear waters of this beach invite all beach lovers to come and enjoy a wonderful day. You can do activities like go swimming, play volleyball or go fishing.

Sailfish, blackfin tuna, dolphins, and other aquatic life are found in the waters of Clearwater Beach. At Pier 60, everyone can fish 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The two-and-a-half-mile Beach Walk begins at Pier 60, proceeds south on both sides of South Gulf view Boulevard. Pedestrians, cyclists and skaters can access the walkway. There are services such as showers and shaded areas where locals and visitors can enjoy the magnificent sunsets on the beach. Clearwater Marina is just a short walk from the boardwalk and offers many water activities such as jet skiing, parasailing, cruises and many more.

Boats, jet skis and jet skis can be rented by the town to enjoy the beach with the family.

For families with children there are many options available. A cruise especially for children known as Captain Memo’s Pirate Cruise has been arranged for entertainment. Many programs such as face painting, storytelling, dance programs and scavenger hunts are organized on board to make your visit to Clearwater Beach a memorable one.

While parasailing on Clearwater Beach, the tranquility of the bowels of the beach and sometimes dolphins and loggerhead sea turtles are seen from the air.

There are many accommodations available in the area ranging from motels to luxury resorts.

On Mandalay Avenue, shops sell everything from T-shirts to suntan lotion to boogie boards. After sunset, street performers liven up the street and artists sell souvenirs made from seashells and shark teeth.

There are many other attractions in the area such as Adventure Island, a water theme park; Clearwater Marine Aquarium, one can touch and see marine animals such as sea turtles, fish, corals, dolphins and more; Florida Botanical Gardens, which showcases Florida plants and there are also wildlife nesting habitats, natural bridges, and restored wetlands.

Clearwater Beach has many museums and theaters. Some of the best known are the Dunedin Fine Arts Center, the Dunedin Historical Museum, the Royalty Theater and the American Stage Company.

The restaurants offer different types of cuisine and after a day at the beach, eating and drinking your favorite drink is a good way to start the day.
