DIY Boat Building: The Frugal Way To Get A Sail-worthy Boat Of Your Own

March 21, 2022 0 Comments

Why can’t you sail the 7 seas… or the 7 lakes… in your own boat? For many people, it is a matter of finances. They would do almost anything to have their own boat, but they just can’t buy it on their own, and the bank won’t approve their loan application. Nowadays, most banks are restricting their loan expenses, so this makes it even more difficult for people to get a boat. Tight banks really aren’t a bad thing, considering what caused all this economic mess… but that’s another problem!

So if you want a boat but can’t afford it, you have a couple of options to choose from. As tempting as this may be for you with criminal inclinations, this would not be the option I recommend. As tempting as this may be to you criminally inclined folks, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The second option is to hitchhike with other boaters. This option entails you being the annoying friend bugging people for some boating excursions every weekend. Unless you don’t mind being annoying and a nuisance, I’d stay away from option B.

The third option is to build your own ship! Really, I’m not kidding. Many people underestimate the possibility of building their own boat. This can be done for a fraction of the cost of buying a new boat, and makes for a great DIY project. But if you don’t know the difference between a nut and a table saw, you may not want to dive right into this DIY adventure just yet. If you’re not so sure of yourself during the workshop, talk to a couple of your friends who do know what they’re doing to help you out. 2 or 3 heads are better than 1, right?

Whether you decide to steal a boat or build your own, I just hope your wish comes true soon. I hope to see you in the water!
