No matter how much service you offer, you will not turn heads unless you have clients. People are in favor of dealing with proven businesses and real estate does not seem to be an exception. You need clients, you need potential clients.

How do you get leads and convert them into customers? How can you make your own small real estate business stand out from the crowd?

1. BE PERSONAL.

Work with people one on one. Working one on one means that you take each client in turn. Your prospect should not be cash, but connections. I can’t stress that enough. Let your clients see you as a friend they can always turn to for help with their real estate needs.

2. USE THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY.

Getting leads is about showing your leads what you can do. Show that you offer more value than your competitors. How do you do this? Take advantage of the latest technologies. Use the latest technology to advertise and make your ads look attractive. Don’t be afraid to test the waters, your clients would love it.

3. HAVE A UNIQUE SELLING PROPOSAL.

What makes it unique? What do you offer that others don’t? That is your unique selling proposition. Your USP is what sets you apart. You need a value proposition, something that says “here’s why you should do business with me instead of my competitors.”

Most real estate professionals say things like “I work hard for my clients.” Try again! It will take more than that to convince me. To stand out, you must have a compelling strategic offering. An ‘incentivized’ offer that states who you serve, how you can help them, and why they should use you over others.

4. OFFER VALUABLE INFORMATION.

Be a storehouse of knowledge. Your customers should be able to come to you for whatever information they need. If you can show your clients that you are a knowledgeable real estate professional, they will trust you and will likely work with you again or send someone their way.

5. HAVE A MIND TO SOLVE PROBLEMS.

The real estate sector is about solving people’s housing problems. You are solving people’s problems one at a time. The mindset should be that of a problem solver. Standing out in your real estate business and getting a steady supply of new clients is all about building relationships. Zig Ziglar says that “you can have anything you want in life if you are going to help other people get what they want.”

Your success or disappointment depends on the number of problems you can solve. You need to keep learning and relearning. The more satisfaction you generate, the more clients you will get and soon you will create a prominent real estate business.
