Holidays on the Costa Blanca – Finding a good restaurant
You are currently enjoying your well-deserved vacation on the Costa Blanca, after the first couple of days in your holiday villa or apartment you may be wondering where to find a good restaurant on the Costa Blanca.
The first part of the night you will have to look for a good restaurant, if you are in Altea, or if you want to visit this beautiful place, you will find some very good restaurants.
If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, there is a very nice restaurant on the Altea beachfront called “Tutti Frutti”, you can order a pizza, but I really recommend a very rich salad, served on an edible plate, the menus are well priced and are very nice. From the terrace you can contemplate the Mediterranean, which will provide you with a pleasant cool breeze.
Near the church of Altea, going down from the church square in the direction of the Sierra Bernia mountain, you will find a busy street with some very nice restaurants. In “Estromboli” you eat very good Italian food and they have a very rich crushed tomato sauce, from my grandfather’s garden.
Across the street is the very nice “Ousteau” restaurant, which is brilliantly decorated and has a fantastic atmosphere. The friendly staff will guide you to your table, which in nice warm weather may be on a cozy outside terrace, but will always be well placed. The food is very good, you can choose between a “Hollywood” menu, making you wonder between an “Al Pachino” steak or a “Marlin Monroe” salad…
If you want to spend a while longer, enjoying the good gastronomic life, I recommend the restaurant “el Nuevo Alcázar” in La Nucia. A very good restaurant run by people who are crazy about food.
Also a very high level that you will find in the restaurant “La Fusión” and “Los Dos Lunas” in Albir, 2 more to put on your list to try.
If you like to have something typical Spanish, Benidorm is the place to be. In the old town of Benidorm there is a special street with many typical “tapas” bars, here you will find Spanish people enjoying all kinds of small snacks and good wines.
Of course you will find both McDonald’s and Burger King in Benidorm, but it is not recommended to go unless you cannot stop.
Spanish food is really great to try, like a good paella you can try it at the “Chiringuito” on Albir beach, where the Spanish are all at big tables eating the paella. For those who absolutely despise seafood, there is a special type of paella called “a banda” and another with only vegetables. There is also a very large grill where they prepare giant steaks.
Anyway, it’s the golden rule to see if a restaurant is good, see if there are enough Spaniards sitting there!
