Kestrel RT800 Road Bike Review

November 28, 2022 0 Comments

The Kestrel RT800 allows the rider to transfer more power to the rear wheel and has a stiffer ride, as well as a taller overall component group. When you order your bike, it will be delivered to you in its original packaging. The derailleur, crank, shifters, as well as the rear brakes and headset will already be assembled on delivery and attached to the frame. Cables are routed through the bike frame to allow for a smoother, windier ride. When it comes to competitive cycling, everything counts.

You will need to do a little assembly once your bike has been shipped. You will have to assemble the front fork, and mount the caliper, as well as the handlebars and the saddle. If you don’t consider yourself one of those people who can easily build things, or in this case assemble things, the instructions and other documents are included. Kestrel’s guide is very detailed; he even has torque specs for the seatpost and clamp. There are also instructions for installing the derailleur and routing the brake cable. The manufacture has even included two bottles of touch-up paint, just in the case.

Included with your Kestrel RT800 you’ll find an adapter that will allow the use of most standard 27.2mm seatposts, if you’ve decided you don’t want to use the standard aero post that came with your bike.

For all you cycling enthusiasts out there, I’ve included some specs and a bit of geometry info in this Kestrel RT800 review. The color of the bike is black, white and green, the size varies from 48-51-53-55-57-59 and 62CM. He weighs 17.8 pounds; the handlebar is made with the highest quality – Kestrel EMS Pro 31.8MM – with gel.

The bike’s fork is a 1 1/8″ EMS Pro SL Carbon Steerer, the step is a Cobra OS profile, the included headset is an Orbit Z Deep Cup, with 14mm carbon top clincher. Shifters, brake levers, front right, rear right bottom bracket, cranks, chain, cassette and brakes are all SHIMANO 105 BLACK.

Kestrel has, and continues to be, the leader among bike enthusiasts. They are well known for creating the first carbon bike and their innovative designs. The Kestrel RT800 is, no matter how you research it, a much better bike for the price, compared to its counterparts. Kestrel will always be the bike of choice for cycling enthusiasts. This model gets five stars in this road bike review.
