Laser Gaming Mouse – Mionix Naos 5000 Review

The mouse trumps dual analog, joystick, touch screen, and any other type of peripheral in terms of precision. In online games, most importantly in first person shooter games, the accuracy of a mouse plays a huge role in determining the outcome of the game. A mouse should be able to easily slide over a mouse pad and land on an enemy player’s head. Most of the optical mice with below average DPI have problems with this factor, which makes them useless for any serious gamer. In this review, we take a look at the Mionix Naos 5000.

Mice are rarely wanted updates. Gamers buy new video cards and CPUs and often forget about the most important item to increase their performance in the game: a mouse. The Naos 5000 shows that a mouse can completely change a gamer’s performance.

The Mionix Naos 5000 looks like any standard gaming mouse. A full rubber exterior lines the body, providing grip so your hand doesn’t slip. The ergonomic design allows for endless hours of play without cramps or muscle aches.

The Naos 5000 comes bundled with 8 weights, each weighing 5 grams each. This allows for an additional 40 grams of weight to be added. For FPS players, no weights are needed as the mouse is required to slide easily across the mousepad. However, in other genres like RTS, it may be good to add some extra weights to prevent the mouse from overshooting its target.

This is a very solid mouse. Rather than focus on adding entirely new features like many other mice are doing right now, the Naos 5000 goes back to basics and aims to provide the absolute best basic functionality you can ever have. An excellent ergonomic design, many customizable features like LED lights, as well as powerful backend software make this mouse a great gaming tool.
