Magic Crisp Microwave Tray

We went out for pizza with some friends last weekend and of course we had half of our pizza left over. For lunch the next day I heated the leftover pizza in the microwave with the Magic Crisp tray. What a difference it makes! It used to come out limp and didn’t cook evenly. With Magic Crisp it was crispy on the bottom and cooked evenly on top. Tried reheating the pizza on top of the stove, with mixed success (sometimes burned the bottom before the top got hot). This is much better.

Use Magic Crisp to:

Pizza
Bacon
Fish sticks
Rolls (crispy on the outside, soft on the inside)
quesadillas
Chicken strips
French fries and onion rings

How does it work

The Magic Crisp Microwave Tray has edges that food sits on. This allows air to circulate under and around the food so that it takes on the crunchy texture that was missing from microwave food. The ridges are taller than previously sold trays so it actually does what it claims to do. And the raised edge of the pan is taller too, so you don’t have to worry about bacon or other grease spilling out in the microwave or on the way to the sink.

The fact that the ridges are higher prevents moisture from building up under the food, which is another reason why Magic Crisp works so well. I learned a long time ago not to reheat muffins in the microwave; It used to ruin the texture, making them too hard and chewy or hard as a rock. My husband and I love muffins and homemade jam, but sometimes when I’m making dinner, I don’t think of the muffins in time to heat them up in the oven. Now we can have hot, tender and crispy muffins whenever we want. This could be bad for our weight, but at our age we don’t care that much.

With the grandchildren nearby I end up taking care of the children a lot, I have used the Magic Crisp several times for their favorites: quesadillas and chicken fillets. They come out the same as when we eat out. Since little ones don’t always like what the grown-ups are having for dinner, it’s good to pick up the specials or quesadillas or fish sticks while I’m out earlier in the day, then reheat last minute as I get. adult food on the table.
