The effect and complications of polycythemia can be reduced by some of the natural products listed below.

Kiwi:

The use of kiwi fruit is found to be very helpful in reducing platelets.

Grape juice:

Researchers have studied that the use of purple grape juice may help reduce the risk of blood clots. purple grape juice; they somehow have the ability to detach densely packed blood platelets.

Green Tea:

The use of green tea is also found to be very encouraging. Those who use green tea have found a decrease in their symptoms.

Dark chocolate:

At the 19th Congress of the International Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis, held in the United Kingdom in July 2003, a study was presented from Ninewells Hospital, Scotland, on Dark Chocolate, which is quite interesting.

Dark chocolate has been reported to inhibit the clumping (aggregation) of platelets, a major cause of blood clots (thrombi) that trigger heart attacks and strokes.

Thirty subjects were randomized to receive 100 grams of white chocolate, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate. Four hours later, blood samples from each group were tested in vitro to see if chocolate ingestion modified platelet aggregation. While white chocolate had no effect and milk chocolate showed a tendency to reduce clumping, dark chocolate inhibited platelet aggregation by 92%. Of the three types of chocolate, dark chocolate has the highest content of flavonoids, known to inhibit cyclooxygenase (COX1) which helps block platelet aggregation.

Researchers suggest that dark chocolate has the potential to reduce thromboembolism and cardiovascular disease.

Vitamin E:

Vitamin E is known as antithrombin. It circulates in the blood and prevents platelet aggregation or clot formation within the vessel, but does not interfere with the normal coagulation process of wounds or normal healing. In fact, it actually speeds up the healing of burns and wounds.

Of course, vitamin E does not have the potential side effects of aspirin. Sesame oil further reduces the risk of thrombi.
