Nissan shines with Sunny in India

There is no doubt that Nissan is a renowned brand in India today and if there is anyone who should take credit for it then it has to be Nissan Sunny. The brand was struggling in India with its only hatchback, Micra up; Sunny’s tenth generation came to the rescue. The size and features of the car immediately established it as a premium midsize sedan in India. Sunny contributes to the majority of Nissan’s sales figures in India. Initially, Nissan only released the gasoline version of Sunny in India. The car was equipped with a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder DOHC engine with maximum power and torque output of 99 hp and 134 Nm available at 6000 rpm and 4000 rpm respectively. This engine is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Now, recently, Nissan has also added CVT (automatic transmission) to the car lineup.

Sunny is also available with an efficient 1.5L diesel engine. It is a 4-cylinder SOHC engine that generates a maximum power of 85 hp at 3750 rpm. The maximum torque power of this K9K engine is 200 Nm, which is available at 2000 rpm. This engine is only available with a five-speed manual gearbox.

According to most Nissan Sunny reviews, extreme space and luxury within the Sunny proved to be the top two advantages of the car. The Sunny petrol version is available in three variants, namely XE, XL and XV, only the XL variant is available with CVT.

Even the entry-level Sunny model comes with high-end features like driver’s side airbag, ABS with EBD, and brake assist and power steering. This surely gives Sunny an edge over her competitors. While the top XV model comes loaded with features like power windows, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs, automatic climate control, rear air conditioning vents, 15-inch alloy wheels, remote keyless entry, and integrated audio system.

The diesel version is also available in three variants, but here the XL acts as the base model, while the special editions XV and XV are the two main variants. The XL features all the features of the XE (gasoline) model along with power windows, a music system, power-adjustable exterior mirrors, and rear air vents. The top model of the diesel version comes with additional features like reverse parking sensors; Start button and premium leather upholstery along with all the features of the XV variant.

The Nissan Sunny’s price range has been the most surprising fact about the car. The basic variant of the petrol version costs around INR 6.30 lakhs, while its top variant is priced at INR 8.19lakhs. The XL CVT variant will cost you around INR 8.64 lakhs.

The well-equipped diesel variant, XL is priced at INR 8.48 lakhs, while the top variant will cost you around INR 9.86 lakhs. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi.
