Qualities a good teacher should appreciate

Are you thinking of becoming a good teacher?

An ideal teacher is mindful of balancing time, homework, and teaching. That would make you punctual, organized and attractive, in a word, ‘effective’. Just teaching a lot and assigning homework to students are not enough homework that a good teacher does. He must account for every moment he spends in class. A teacher must take into account that his work entails great responsibility.

Be intimate and affectionate with students and be exuberant at work. Have magical dominance over the class. Your students must wake up at the same time you enter the class. Remember, your students are like your spiritual children. Be affectionate with them full of love; however, in cases where it is necessary, please act strictly! Don’t hesitate to say, “You’ve been misbehaving, dear! That wasn’t classroom behavior.” – such words are not at all unpleasant from a tutor to a student when they are said at the right time; especially when a good teacher talks to his student, the mentor does it quite rationally and virtually transmits one of those moral lessons that guide his youngest son for the rest of his life.

When a teacher teaches, he plays a versatile role. One is that he delivers the raw materials for study and another is that he transmits to his students what is the approach and conduct of life. The second is implicit and is often overlooked by an apathetic instructor. However, this is a factor that makes one an effective and productive tutor and others the opposite. Behavior entries record insightful commentary into a learner’s entire life. It is through this input, through which social conduct, moral behavior and other characteristics are developed in human beings. Good or bad qualities are transmitted from the teacher to the student. Therefore, if one claims to be a good teacher, he must pay attention to what he is delivering to his students in total.

Teaching is not a narrow takeover. Explicitly, a teacher is the mentor, guide and guardian of the students and implicitly their partner, friend and companion.

Many teachers act and work a lot. Even they study and equip themselves well before class hours; however, what they miss is the good implementation of their skills and study. They often mistakenly think that their own satisfaction is successful; this type of self-assessment leads to erroneous conclusions. Sometimes they can make the class very exciting; however, they are unable to maintain a consistent standard in conducting the class. They ignore the fact that they are not being effective. They teach a lot but with less productivity and performance. Although such a problem mainly arises due to lack of sufficient experience, one point should still be taken seriously. Adopt yourself to teach and focus on the genuine needs of the course and the topic at hand. The pretense of being clever and sensible must be strictly avoided. And just a few successful classes shouldn’t satisfy you to the brim. Don’t get carried away while you’ve just started teaching well. Take it as your responsibility and truly, that’s it! Thank your Creator for giving you such a quality, which is truly a blessing.

There are even teachers who are not very aware of their self-development. Class effectiveness should also be measured in terms of personal development and not just successful delivery in class. Successful in-class delivery would be effective and sustainable if the teacher is also self-taught and dedicated to being outside of class. Even at the end of the day you have learned something new from a student, that’s not cheap either. I would rather say that in the way of teaching, learning new things should be considered a treasure. What you are learning today is in fact your asset tomorrow.

Remember, an ideal teacher is a role model for their students. If you are honest, communicative, and hard-working, the next generation you are raising will instill the same in you.

Often imagine yourself sitting next to your students. If you don’t like your teacher to be boring, unsociable, inflexible, and apathetic, how would it be for you, as a teacher, to practice these (?) not act, react, or do something that you yourself would not like? Don’t worry too much if you’ve already made a mistake and messed up. Learn from your mistake; don’t repeat it; correct yourself.

Finally, I would draw the attention of my respected readers to a philosophical point regarding the term ‘good teacher’. It could be argued that the term ‘good teacher’ should not have been used; ‘teacher’ itself could be the honest, self-explanatory term to express the name of a life builder. However, as we human beings vary in choosing good and evil, we carry a name (title) and defame it by our own character; therefore, a clear differentiation is necessary for people in general.
