Having to deal with a slow running laptop is a hassle and can even slow down your work. Waiting for an app to load every time you need it is the worst case scenario and it will try to do anything to prevent it from happening. To deal with this problem, you opt to hire a technician or, even worse, buy a new computer or computer part. Be it a laptop or desktop, one should not go for these expensive solutions. There is another way to prevent your PC from slowing down without spending too much money.

Others may not know the main reason for a slow computer. Many think that uninstalling a certain program or software will solve the problem immediately, however this is not the case. Once a program is uninstalled or removed, a part or a file of that program is stored in the computer’s registry for safekeeping. Once that file is stored, there will be a chance that your computer is still running slowly.

How does the registry affect overall performance and cause my laptop to run slowly?

Every time you use your PC and every edit, change, save, close, delete, restore, and other task you perform cannot be executed without going through the registry first. The registry serves as your computer’s central core or data mine that stores everything you do with your computer. Since the computer is used over and over again, wanted and unwanted data starts to accumulate in the registry, making your job difficult. This is even worse when a file is corrupted or damaged, as it can cause the computer to malfunction.

Then you may start to see the following problems on your laptop.

1. Your laptop takes a long time to start up.

2. When you click on a desktop icon, nothing happens or you have to click it multiple times before it opens and the rest of the icons on your desktop may start to “blink” when you do this.

3. Programs can take up to a minute to start and used to open immediately.

4. For programs that are reinstalled and uninstalled, you may get a message about registry errors.

To resolve these issues, all you need to do is clean your windows and registry and remove any unwanted files or malware that could harm your computer. The best way to do this is to download a system scanner. This will not only fix the errors, but it will detect and stop the execution of malware that can cause these errors as well. If your computer is running slow, scan it right now and speed up your slow Windows laptop.
