Starcraft 2 Ultimate Protoss Void Ray Tips & Guide

May 13, 2021 0 Comments

For me, one of the most exciting parts of multiplayer in Starcraft 2 is when you can triangulate a large group of Protoss Void Rays in perfect position against opposing teams’ units, and then watch them fire their crazy Prismatic Beams. In this Protoss units guide, I’ll give you lightning stats, updates, and strategy tips and also explain how to use these weapons to cause maximum carnage.

Protoss vs Protoss

The Void Ray’s advantage against armored units combined with its damage while targeting one unit makes it a great weapon for taking out slower Protoss units. The Prismatic Beam can stay fully charged for a few seconds after removing it from a unit, so try to attack enemies quickly afterwards to get a good line of targets. Rays’ slow speed makes them extremely vulnerable to Protoss Phoenix fighters, as well as Stalkers equipped with a Blink teleport.

Protoss vs Zerg

This Protoss unit is excellent for quickly devastating Zerg mineral fields, and if you can get enough of them and move them stealthily, it can cause great destruction against a Zerg base. Watch out for spore colonies!

Protoss vs Terran

Use the Thunderbolt to defend the ground stacks of Battlecrusiers. They are devastating against that unit. The Vikings can take out the Void Rays from a great distance, while the Protoss unit can be vulnerable to being flanked by a large number of Marines.
