‘I have a friend. He lives in my house.

The girl is peeping out of a window. There is another window on the right side, there is a replica of the same girl in this window. The replica is a bit faded.

‘When I’m happy, so is she.’

The girl goes round and round with her hands outstretched. The replica/reflection of her also dances next to her.

‘When I cry, she cries too.’

The two girls are crying.

But I can’t hear his voice.

My friend lives inside the mirror.

‘Come out,’ I say, ‘let’s play.’

She doesn’t go out.

Now the girl is standing in front of a mirror. She is holding a billy in her hands. She looks at her reflection in the mirror. She seems to be sad.

‘I am not happy.

I’m going to bed.’

The girl is lying on the bed. She is asleep on her forehead with both hands under her face.

‘She comes out of the mirror when I’m sleeping. We had lots of fun.’

The girl holds both hands with her replica. They are both going round and round around each other. There is a little cuckoo flying around her.

‘We play, we run, we yell and we squeal together.’

They are both now standing under a tree. There are two cabins behind them. An owl, a cuckoo and a squirrel play around it. The girls are screaming.

‘When I talk to her, she also talks to me.’

Now both girls are sitting on a tree branch, with their hands around each other’s shoulders. There is a blue bird flying around him. A butterfly is also fluttering around him. The branch is laden with many colored leaves.

‘In the morning, my friend will return to the mirror.’

Now the two girls are embracing at a window.

But I don’t care at all. We will play again in my dreams!

The girl looks in the mirror. The reflection of her is asleep there.

‘I wake up at night feeling thirsty.

I want to drink some water. I start

Looking for my slippers under the bed.

An 8-year-old boy wakes up, gets out of bed, and looks under it for his slippers. He sees big bright eyes of a tiger under his bed.

‘Oh no! There is a tiger under my bed.

The boy is crouched over his bed and looking down. The tiger’s back appears under the bed.

‘What should I do now? Shall I call mom? And if the tiger comes out?

The boy lowers his head under the bed and sees the tiger’s back.

‘Should I go back to sleep? But I’m not sleepy anymore.

He lies back on his bed. He is lying on his side. He pulls the sheet over his head, but his face is still open and his hands are on his face.

(Then someone turns on the light. Mom is standing at the door.)

‘What happened, dear? You called me?’

Mom is standing at the door. The little boy lifts her blanket from one side of her and looks at her.

(I point to the tiger. Mom reaches down and pulls the tiger out from under the bed!)

Mom reaches down and pulls the tiger out from under the bed. The boy crouches with her.

‘Hey! There is no tiger.

This is my yellow and black sweater. The buttons on him shine like the eyes of a tiger.

Mom gets up and shows the sweater to the boy. The child sticks out the tongue with both hands under the chin.

I got scared for nothing.

The boy wears the sweater and smiles.

‘Now I will sleep and dream of real tigers in the jungle!’

Now both mom and child lie on the bed and cover themselves with the blanket. The child smiles at mom.
