VLC media player is really the best audio and video player for various audio and video formats, which is a free and multifunctional software. VLC media player VLC Media Player runs on all operating systems, for example, Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, BeOS, BSD, Solaris, Familiar Linux, etc.

VLC can play almost all video and audio files, even incomplete media files that you don’t download completely, and can stream audio and video over networks to another computer using a host of different protocols, can be controlled remotely via from a web browser and more! In the next part, we will show you steps and notes on how to use your VLC to stream a media file to another computer on your network.

First you need to download VLC media Player and install it properly.

1. Run the VLC Media Player program

2. Choose the file you want to stream
Click File, then choose Open file or disk. The Open dialog box opens, and click the Browse button at the top right of the Open dialog box. Choose the file you want to stream and double-click it or click Open.

3. Stream Output Settings dialog to start streaming
A. Click Stream/Save on the bottom left corner, it will open the Stream Output dialog.
b. Check the Play locally box if you want the file to play on the computer you are configuring.
v Click the UDP box, fill in the IP of the computer you will broadcast to, leave the Port as 1234.
d. Click OK to return to the open file dialog. Then click OK again to start streaming.

4. Run VLC on the computer you want to stream to
Go to the computer you are streaming to and run the VLC program.

5. Choose Open Network Stream and click OK
Click File, then choose Open Network Stream on Another Computer. Do not change any settings and click OK. If all went well, the file can be played on the remote computer very soon.
