Wrapped in loving arms

It is early in the morning. We are still in bed. It’s Monday morning and we wonder what this week will hold for each of us. I know that the past week was difficult for my wife. She has a lot in the trident of her. She has to support so many people. She has a lot to do. She has to give a lot of herself.

And this morning he only asks me for one thing: “Please, hug me. Just hug me.”

We men don’t always understand the role we have to play for our wives. Sometimes we are too pragmatic. We want to give advice. We want to make suggestions to make it easier, better and faster. We want to give answers. They may be the right answers, hints and tips, but not the right solution right now.

They just want to be held.

God knows how to treat us. From the depths of his being he simply wants to hug us and wrap us in his love. He wants to give us calm in the midst of the storm. He wants to be the solid foundation on which we can anchor. Wrapped in the circle of his arms, against his chest, we find rest and love.

16So let us walk up to him and take what he is so willing to give. He takes mercy, accepts help.

are you fighting? Do you have many questions? Are the answers eluding you? Nothing makes sense right now? Are you wondering if you will open your eyes here on earth tomorrow morning? Do you worry about your children? Are you wondering about the country? Have you run out of solutions?

Now is probably a good time to go to God. Like the father of the prodigal son, He stands with open arms waiting for you. He is waiting to hug you and hold you and cover you with his love. And where there is love, there is no guilt. he is unconditional he does not want to give you advice or suggestions to make it easier, better and faster. He is not waiting with an answer.

He is simply waiting, standing with open arms to enfold you in His love.

Sometimes you just have to go and stay with God. Wait in silence with Him. As open as a barn door to receive His love. Because his love is enough to carry us forward on the path ahead.

What challenge are you facing today? Will someone stick a needle in you? Do you need to find money somewhere? Do you need a lot of wisdom? Maybe you should first go and sit quietly with God and just rest in his arms.

He will wrap you in his love…

And you will receive what you need and much more…

Holy Scripture
Hebrews 4:12-16

Reflection
What are you struggling with?
Where will you find help?
Does God hold you in his arms?

Prayer
Father, I am at a dead end. I don’t know what to do. The few answers I have are not working. I’m tired. I will come and sit with you. Please hold me in your loving arms. In the name of Jesus, amen.
