What’s in your spa water?

We all know that drinking water is good for us. Seemingly, it’s drilled into us at every turn, and though it’s been proven time and time again, water is just, well, boring. While drinking water after a long run or being in the sun is very refreshing, sometimes we just want to turn it up to level two and that’s where spa water comes in.

No, it is not a new brand, just an idea that has been around for as long as spas have existed. In the past, people flocked to the Alps to breathe fresh air and get back to nature. They would also be given cucumber in water as the ultimate healthy drink. Spa water was born (as was bottled water, but that’s an article for another day!)

Today we put all kinds of things in our water to give it a hint of flavor, because we all know that we drink more when it tastes good, right? Surprisingly, cucumber water is very tasty, tastes fresh and clean, and really brings out the cucumber flavor. While it may seem strange to put a vegetable in water, it really isn’t, although fruits do, of course, look better.

Strawberries, apples and cinnamon, oranges, lemons, limes, and even pears can be put into water in any mix you like, which not only brings the water to life, but gives it the goodness (vitamins, minerals and good things in general) from fruits. All at the same time.

Any kind of berry works well in water too, just prick the berries with a toothpick or fork to get the juices flowing and you have a fun drink.

Now you may be thinking you need a stylish container for running around town, and of course there are plenty on the market, but really all you need is a water bottle with a lid big enough to put whatever you want inside. . It doesn’t have to be fancy, it just has to work, right?

The great thing about spa water, though, is the fact that you can customize it to your liking, put whatever you want in whatever combination you want in that water, and you’re good to go. The health benefits are twofold as we know that all the elements are good for us!
